Episode 5: How to select tiles in Tamil. This session details about Double Charge and Full Body variety of Vitrified tiles. Is Double Charge Tile better than SST tiles as they are costly? It is not so. Lets try to understand what is SST, Double Charge and Full Body tiles in this session Double charge tile is colour pigment added to SST tiles, to give more variety. When the pigment is mixed to the full body, it is called full body tiles. To reduce the cost, instead of mixing the colour with whole tile body, it is mixed only upto 2mm top layer. This is called Double Charge tile. But this mixing is done before formation of tile hence it is a single tile which has the same strength of SST. Double charge is Stain Resistant and Scratch Proof. Full body tiles are now used for heavy duty applications like Industrial, School, Colleges floorings.
